Steve Andy Patrick Themm (born September 8, 1991 in Kassel ) is a German ice hockey goalkeeper who has been playing at ESC Paderborn from the Regionalliga West since 2015 .

Career

Themm began ice hockey as a young player with the ice hockey youth Kassel , with whom he played in the junior Bundesliga.

His professional career began in the 2008/09 season when Stéphane Richer , who was born in Kassel - the coach of the Kassel Huskies at the time - brought him into the professional squad as a back-up goalie. At 17, Themm was the youngest goalkeeper to be appointed to a professional squad in the German Ice Hockey League .

The goalie played his first game of the season on January 20, 2009 against the DEG Metro Stars . After Adam Hauser - the first Kassel goalkeeper - received a match penalty in extra time due to a fight, Themm was substituted on 15 seconds before the end. In the subsequent penalty shootout, he parried three of the four shots of the Düsseldorf team and held the 4: 3 victory for Kassel after penalty shootout. Themm was referred to as the "match winner" after this game.

Before the 2010/11 season, Themm completed trial training at EV Landsberg , but returned to the EJ Kassel in mid-September 2010. In December of the same year he received another gaming license for the Icefighters Leipzig from the Oberliga-Ost . For the 2012/2013 season, Steve Themm changes to EHC Dortmund in the Oberliga West. Themm has been playing for the regional league team ESC Paderborn since 2015 .
