Steven Alan Browning

Steven Alan Browning (born December 6, 1949 in Texas ) is a United States Ambassador .

Life

Steven Alan Browning graduated from Baylor University in 1971 with a Bachelor of Arts. He also received a BA from the University of Houston . In 1992 he joined the foreign service and was employed in the State Department as Special Assistant to the Secretary of State for Management until 1993 . From 1993 to 1998, Steven Alan Browning was the bureau chief at the US Embassy in Dar es Salaam . From 1996 to 1998 he also headed the Africa Department in the State Department. From 1998 to 2000, Steven Alan Browning was Dean at the Foreign Service Institute: School of Professional and Area Studies. He then taught at the University of Southern California and the University of California, Davis . From 2004 to 2006, Steven Alan Browning was Counselor for Management at the US Embassy in Baghdad . In 2005 he was appointed US ambassador to Uganda. He held the office until 2009.
