Life

Crowder grew up in Greenfield Park, Quebec . His family raised him as a Christian. At the age of 12 he was a voice actor in the television series Aardvark Arthur and Friends (1996). From the age of 15, Crowder wanted to be a comedian and practiced stand-up comedy. Two years later he performed at the Just for Laughs Festival in Montreal . He also played in several films, such as To Save a Life (2009). He attended Champlain College in Vermont .

In 2009 he started posting videos on YouTube . In February 2020 he had over 4.37 million subscribers there. He also worked for Fox News Channel , which he quit in October 2013 for speaking negatively about Sean Hannity . His format Louder with Crowder , which he himself describes as late-night-like , was broadcast daily from January 2017 on the Conservative Review program of the streaming service CRTV, a subsidiary of Blaze Media. Since 2018 he has hosted the format Change my Mind , which presents independent episodes of Louder With Crowder , where instead of the studio show he sets up a table in public and uses the Socratic method to discuss controversial topics such as the first two amendments to the US Constitution , abortion and Gender theory discussed with interested passers-by.

The program produced an Image Macro in which Crowder is sitting at his table with a mug on which the words "Male Privilege is a Myth - Change my Mind" are written in all capital letters. " Male privileges are a fairy tale - Change my mind. " is called for discussion. The image was first published by Crowder on February 16, 2018, then republished three days later with changed text before Change my Mind by a Twitter user and then Reddit users as well. Since then, altered versions of the image have been used as memes .

On May 30, 2019, Crowder was accused by Vox journalist Carlos Maza of having insulted him racially and because of his homosexuality. In response to Maza's complaint, Youtube first checked Crowder's channel, but found no policy violations. This sparked strong public protests against the decision. Youtube determined that the content is not suitable for advertising, so the channel has been “demonetized”, meaning that no advertisements from Youtube partners are shown on the videos. This has been criticized from the conservative side.

Crowder has been married to Hilary Korzon since 2012.
