Steven Goldstein (born February 23, 1981 in Bogotá ) is a Colombian racing driver . He is a development driver at Force India in the 2015 Formula 1 World Championship .

Career

Goldstein began his motorsport career in 2004 in the US Formula Dodge Eastern Race Series and immediately won the Sportsman Division . In 2005 he drove in the Panoz GT Summer Series and won a race.

In 2006 Goldstein moved to Europe for the Superstars Series , an Italian touring car championship, and received a factory cockpit at Audi Sport Italia . He took part in the second half of the season and reached eleventh place overall. In 2007 Goldstein stayed with Audi Sport Italia in the Superstars Series and improved to eighth place overall, while his teammate Gianni Morbidelli won the championship. In 2008 Goldstein lost his Audi cockpit after the first six races of the Superstars Series. He finished twelfth in the drivers' championship, while the title went back to his team-mate Morbidelli. In addition, he was eleventh in the Italian touring car endurance championship in the diesel category.

In 2009 Goldstein started again in the Italian Touring Car Endurance Championship and finished 18th in the second division. He also took part in endurance races in Colombia. In 2010 Goldstein competed in the European Trofeo Maserati and finished second overall with two podium finishes. He also competed in the Italian GT Championship and finished twelfth in the drivers' standings with a win.

In 2011 Goldstein switched to the Superstars GT Sprint series and competed in this series until 2013. He won the Cup Trophy every year . In 2014 Goldstein competed in the Italian GT Championship. In the first division of the Pirelli Tires Cup , he reached second place overall.

Although Goldstein has never driven in a high-class formula series , he was signed to the Formula 1 racing team Force India as a development driver in 2015 .

Goldstein earned his Bachelor of Business Administration from the Kogod School of Business in Washington, DC in 2003 and his Master of Business Administration from Luigi Bocconi University of Economics in 2008 .
