Steven Lewis

Steven Lewis ( Steven James "Steve" Lewis ; born May 20, 1986 in Stoke-on-Trent ) is a former British pole vaulter .

In 2006, starting for England , he won bronze at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne .

At the 2007 World Athletics Championships in Osaka and the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing, he was eliminated without a valid attempt. In 2009 he was fourth at the European Indoor Championships in Turin and seventh at the World Championships in Berlin .

In the following year, a sixth place at the Indoor World Championships in Doha and the silver medal at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi followed .

On January 12, 2018, Lewis announced the end of his sporting career.

Steven Lewis was trained by Dan Pfaff and started for the Newham & Essex Beagles.
