The Steyr Austria (21/100 PS) is a car of the luxury class .

description

The Steyr-Werke presented the vehicle as a top model at the Paris Motor Show in October 1929. The car designed by Ferdinand Porsche , who took up the position of chief designer at Steyr in early 1929, was to come onto the market in 1930. Since the Steyr-Werke entered into a cooperation with Austro-Daimler-Puchwerke AG , which led to the merger of the two companies in 1934 ( Steyr-Daimler-Puch AG ), the Steyr-Hausbank did not want the Österreichische Credit-Anstalt , as Austro-Daimler's main shareholder Competitive model to the Austro-Daimler ADR 8 and required the setting. This resulted in only three prototypes. Porsche then decided not to work at Steyr and left the company at the end of 1929.

The car had an 8-cylinder OHV in-line engine installed at the front, which drove the rear wheels via a 4-speed gearbox (3-speed + overdrive).
