Stiborius is an impact crater south of the lunar front , south of Mare Nectaris , east of Lindenau crater and south of Piccolomini . The crater is relatively little eroded, irregularly shaped and shows traces of landslides and a central mountain on the inside .

The crater was officially named by the IAU in 1935 after the German astronomer and mathematician Andreas Stiborius .
