The Hannover-Linden branch canal (SKL), formerly the Linden branch canal , is an artificial waterway that connects the Mittelland Canal with the Linden harbor in the Linden-Mitte district of Hanover . It was built between 1910 and 1915.

The branch canal begins in Seelze -Lohnde at canal kilometer 149.59 of the Mittelland Canal and initially heads east. There is a marina in Seelze . After about 8 km the branch canal crosses the border to the city of Hanover . Then the connecting channel to the Leine branches off in the Limmer district , providing a connection to the Leine and the Ihme . The Hannover-Linden branch canal continues in a south-easterly direction to the Linden port lock . The lock raises the level by 7.80 m to the height of the harbor basin of 58.1  m above sea level. NN . The federal waterway ends at km 10.75 and the port basin at km 11.2. The newly created waterways and shipping office Mittellandkanal / Elbe-Seitenkanal has been responsible for the federal waterway since February 5, 2020 (previously the waterways and shipping office Braunschweig).
