Stig Fredriksson

Stig Fredriksson (born March 6, 1956 in Sorsele ) is a former Swedish national football player who is now working as a coach .

career

Fredriksson first played for Västerås SK . 1980 Sven-Göran Eriksson brought him to IFK Göteborg , for whom the defender played in the Allsvenskan . In 1982 it was surprisingly successful in the UEFA Cup , which was repeated in 1987. Fredriksson has also won several Swedish championships and cups with the club. In 1987 he ended his active career.

Fredriksson was also a Swedish international . He played 58 times for the national team, of which he played 15 games as team captain . Since his active time fell in a bad phase of the national team, he missed participation in major tournaments.

After the end of his active career, Fredriksson moved to the coaching bench. Initially, he was in charge of the Swedish U21 national team as an assistant coach . Later he was a coach at Västra Frölunda IF .
