The Schwyz – Stoos funicular with a capacity of 1000 people per hour was opened in 1933 and overcame a height difference of 725 m over a length of 1361 m. The Schlattli valley station can be reached within ten minutes from Schwyz using AAGS bus line 1 . The technically obsolete railway, the operating license of which had expired, was replaced by the new Schwyz – Stoos funicular , which started operating in mid-December 2017. Winter sports facilities

On the Stoos 1305  m above sea level. M. there are two four-person chairlifts (built in 2000) on Fronalpstock 1922  m above sea level. M. , a six- seater chairlift (built in 2007) with heated seats on the Klingenstock 1935  m above sea level. M. as well as the Maggiweid, Sternegg and Holibrig ski lifts . The six-seater chairlift is the longest of its kind in Central Switzerland . It overcomes the difference in altitude of 581.50 meters in six and a half minutes. There are also toboggan runs , an air-cushion sled run, cross-country skiing trails and winter hiking trails.

The construction of the six-seater chairlift resulted in four new slope variants on the Klingenstock. This gave the skiers an FIS- homologated training and racing track that allows smooth operation in downhill and super-G parallel to piste operations. The "Franz Heinzer Piste" was built according to the FIS guidelines and therefore has a high safety standard. It is named after the ski racer Franz Heinzer .

In summer the Stoos is the starting point for hikes, for example for the high-altitude hike from the Klingenstock to the Fronalpstock (level of difficulty T2 according to the SAC hiking scale ). Chairlifts that can be used for ascent and descent also operate in summer between Stoos and Klingenstock as well as Stoos and Fronalpstock.
