The Stráž (German Postberg ) is a mountain in the Bohemian Forest , Czech Republic .
Below its western slope is a moorland in which the warm Vltava (Teplá Vltava) rises, behind it the Černá hora ( Black Mountain ) rises . The Reschbach rises to the southwest , which does not drain into the North Sea like the Vltava , but over the Danube into the Black Sea . So this is where the main European watershed runs . A secondary peak of the mountain is the Holý vrch (Eng. Hochbretterberg; 1295 m). In the south is the Siebensteinkopf (1263 m) in Bavaria .
The village of Bučina (Kvilda) was located on the south-eastern slope until 1956 . Today the next towns are Kvilda ( Aussergefild ), about 5 km to the north, and Finsterau , which is 5 km to the south.
