Tram cars in downtown Pau

The former Pau tram was used for inner-city traffic in the capital of the Basse-Pyrénées department . The private horse-drawn tram , which had been in the streets of Pau since 1894 , was replaced by an electric tram on November 1, 1900. The company "Société Béarnaise des Tramways Urbains" (SBTU), a subsidiary of the "Omnium lyonnais de chemins de fer et tramways", operated three tram lines on a 7-kilometer meter-gauge rail network:

  • 1. Boulevard Guillermin – La Croix du Prince
  • 2. La Halle – Route de Bordeaux
  • 3. La Halle – La Gare du Midi

14 railcars and five sidecars were available for this. The company was shut down on April 30, 1931.
