The Shenzhen tram is a tram operation opened on October 28, 2017 in the Longhua district of the Chinese city ( special economic zone ) of Shenzhen , which has been in public test operation since June 23, 2017.
Brief description
The operation consists of two standard-gauge tram lines with a length of 11.5 km and 21 stops. They connect to the Shenzhen Metro Line 4 at Qinghu Station . The routes are mostly laid out on grass tracks . With the exception of the stops, the lines have no catenary.
Several more lines without catenary are planned, in the final expansion the network will be 51 km long.
vehicles
Initially, 15 four-part low - floor multiple units with super capacitors , 36 meters long and 2.65 meters wide, are in use. They are designed for a top speed of 70 km / h and can accommodate up to 300 passengers. The Siemens supercapacitors are charged at the bus stops using a hanging busbar .
