Brief description

The operation consists of a standard-gauge tram line with a length of 14.5 km and 22 stops. It connects Cascade in the east of the city with the new train station in the north and continues via the university to the city center and from there to Gare Routière Sud. It crosses itself at Sidi Djilali. The extension to Cité 20 Août with four stops has been built, but not yet in operation (as of September 2017).

The route is largely on its own track, 450 meters in a pedestrian zone. The operating time is daily from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m.

The company has around 700 employees, and forecasts indicate that 60,000 passengers will be transported in the future.

Extensions are planned at both ends of this line, and another line is in the preliminary planning phase.

vehicles

34 seven-part Citatis 402 from Alstom , which were built in the Algerian city of Annaba , are used.
