When the SS28 was established in 1928, a side branch ("Diramazione") was established, which was signposted as SS28bis. This runs between Ceva and Carcare with a length of 27 kilometers and connects the SS28 with the SS29. It bears the same title "Del Colle di Nava" as the SS28, even if it does not go over the pass. By a regionalization law of 1998 it was downgraded to a Provincial Road. In Piedmont it became the SP430 di Ceva , in Liguria it kept its number and title: SP28 bis del Colle di Nava . The Autostrada 6 runs parallel to it, the lanes of which sometimes diverge widely. To the east of Montezemolo, the road was taken down from a pass road through new bridges and a tunnel. She was also shown around Millesimo to the south.
