history

The family line begins in Riga with David Strandtmann (* 1630, † 1693). Gustav (von) Strandmann (* 1704, † 1778), grandson of the aforementioned, was the lord of Kroppenhof, Zirsten and Teutschenbergen, as well as a retired imperial Russian captain . D. , was raised to the imperial nobility on May 6, 1740 in Luxembourg . In 1750 he was admitted to the Livonian Knight Bank (No. 174).

In the next generation, the family split into an older line, donated by Gustav Ernst von Strandmann (* 1742; † 1803) and a younger line, donated by Otto Magnus von Strandmann (* 1746; † 1827), Mr. Zirsten and Teutschenbergen in Livonia , as well as Hackhof in Estonia , Imperial Russian Lieutenant General . Otto Karl Friedrich von Strandmann (* 1789; † 1840), son of the aforementioned, Herr auf Hackhof and Erras, Imperial Russian Lieutenant Colonel , enrolled in the Estonian Knighthood on February 24, 1827 .

The family coat of arms from 1740 shows in blue on a green lawn, through which a narrow silver stream runs, a wild man standing with a green wreath around his head and loin with a shouldered club. On the helmet with blue-silver covers a silver lily between open blue flights .
