Strata is an alternative rock band from Campbell , California .

Band history

The band was formed in 2000 under the name Downside . In 2001, a first EP Sleep with nine titles was released under this name , followed by another EP Now the Industry is Outnumbered. Their Factories are Burning Down, which was published as Strata in 2003 . Tours in support of Alien Ant Farm and dredg gave them a higher degree of acquaintance, which eventually brought them a record deal with Wind-Up Records .

In 2004 they released their self-titled debut album Strata, which debuted at number 41 on the Billboard “Top Heatseekers” charts. Piece By Piece, the first single released from the album, was used for the soundtrack of the action film The Punisher and the console game Madden NFL 2005 . The second single Never There (She Stabs), for which a video was also made, also appeared on the soundtrack of the film Elektra .

The release date for the second album Strata Presents The End of the World is July 17, 2007. A first single Cocaine (We're All Going to Hell) from it was released digitally in January of the same year.
