content

In his documentary-essayistic film project, Hayn approaches the filmmaker duo Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet, who talked about it with films such as Too Early / Too Late  (1982), Klassenrechte  (1984) and Chronicle of Anna Magdalena Bach  (1968) Made speeches. In doing so, he sets them in relation to the pictorial visualization in order to make the new generation of art understand the importance of Straub's innovative art form. The film also includes reports on the shooting of the Schönberg opera film Moses and Aron  (1974). In his own oil paintings, Hayn refers to the couple's films. It shows the creation of the pictures and addresses the importance of artistic traditions.

criticism

The film service judges that the “essayistic film based on personal ties” proves to be a “courageous defense of artistic-aesthetic obstinacy that revolves around the question of the extent to which Straub / Huillet's artistic-political approach and their strategy for their own work are different let make fertile ".
