Streffen

Streffen was the name of a district of the then parish Küdinghoven in the Duchy of Jülich-Berg . Today the area belongs to the Bonn districts Küdinghoven and Ramersdorf of the Beuel district . The name has disappeared as a place name. The area designated as such extended in the south of Küdinghoven about to what was then Ramersdorf. Today in the middle of the area lies the approximately 300-meter-long court path . The Streffenweg , which connects Dornenkreuzstraße with Kirchstraße , is reminiscent of the old location.

The local meaning of the expression "Streffe" meant: long strip of terrain. The designation "Auf der Streffe", "Bei der Streffen" or "Unter der Streffen" appeared for the first time in 1726 in the "Landt Maß-Description des Kirchspiels Küdinghoven". In the cadastral record of 1824, corridor 32 is referred to as "Auf der Streffe". The topographic map of Rhineland and Westphalia names "Streffen" in the years 1841 to 1858 as a place name. In the house of the inn "Zur Schöne Aussicht" (built according to the house inscription in 1618) on this street ("Auf der Streffen") - when Küdinghoven was still the seat of a Bergisch lower court - the court sessions with seven lay judges took place. Since 1907, this part of the Streffen, which runs between Königswinterer Straße and Gallusstraße / Lindenstraße , has been known as the court path .
