The stripeder Falcon is a single-seat glider of the standard class , which was developed and built by Hansjörg stripeder in 1981.

history

The aircraft was built in Hansjörg stripseder's spare time from the beginning of 1981 in the workshops of the Glasflügel company with the support of Martin Hansen, who carried out the strength calculations and verifications. The design of the Falcon based on the SB 12 of Akaflieg Braunschweig, in turn Hornet C had a basis. The fuselage and tail unit are from the glass wing 402 .

The aircraft was flown for the first time on July 7th, 1981 in Braunschweig with the registration number D-7775 by Stripeeder and measured at the idaflieg summer meeting in Aalen-Elchingen in August 1981. The negative forms of the Falcon were later loaned to Glaser-Dirks , where the wing of the Glaser-Dirks DG-300 was created based on them. Akaflieg Karlsruhe used the wing shape to build the AK-5 .

construction

The self -supporting middle-decker with a rectangular double-trapezoidal wing was created in GRP - hard foam - sandwich - half-shell construction . The spar caps of two-piece airfoil with tongue and fork connection consist of glass fiber - rovings from the wing surface are 1.3 meters exciting two story Schempp-Hirth airbrakes extendable. The aileron and airbrake connections are made automatically during assembly, the surface loading can be increased by filling double-walled water bags with a volume of 150 l. Over the entire span of the wing with the wing profile HQ 21 / 17.15 designed by Karlheinz Horstmann and Armin Quast, blow turbulators are distributed on the underside .

The fuselage is reinforced with hollow profiles, the T-tail is dampened and the elevator is provided with an automatic connection. The one-piece cockpit hood made of acrylic glass folds forward with the instrument panel, the main landing gear with a brakable 5-inch wheel is retractable.
