The Striation Valley (English for banding valley ) is a valley in the Ganymede Heights on the Alexander I Island west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It runs north of the Jupiter Glacier in a southeasterly direction and opens up to George VI Sound .
A team of geographers from the University of Aberdeen carried out surveys with the assistance of the British Antarctic Survey between 1978 and 1979. They named it after the banding found in the rock of the valley .
