Stureby is an above-ground station on the Stockholm Metro . It is located in the Stureby district of the same name . The station is served by the Gröna linjen of the Stockholm subway system . The station is one of the less frequented stations on the underground network. On a normal winter working day, around 2200 commuters get on here.
The station was opened on September 9, 1951, when the section of the Gröna linjen Gullmarsplan – Stureby was put into operation. Until November 22, 1954, it was also the terminus of the T19 line, from then on the trains ran over the newly built section to the Högdalen station . The current station was built in 1953. The station is located between the Bandhagen and Svedmyra stations . The platforms are above ground in an elevated position. It is around 7.5 km to Stockholm Central Station .
