Sturmmühle is a wasteland and a district of Lupburg in the Upper Palatinate district of Neumarkt in the Upper Palatinate .

The storm mill is located 2.0 km southeast of the center of Lupburg as the last mill on the Schwarzen Laber in the Neumarkt district, near the border with the Regensburg district .

history

During the time when this area was owned by the Duchy of Pfalz-Neuburg , the storm mill belonged to the Lupburg rule. In 1557 Hans Kolb owned the Sturmmühle, in 1654 Haus Raidl, 1701 Hans Ruidl, around 1712 Michael Seitz and from 1787 Joseph Plank. The Plank family still owns the Sturmmühle today.

Two undershot water wheels with a diameter of five meters were built into the mill . A mill and a saw were operated with it. The water wheels were later replaced by a turbine. The mill operation was stopped during the Second World War, the sawing operation ended in 1946.
