The port railway Stuttgart is a widespread freight rail connection in the Neckar located in Stuttgart city districts Obertürkheim , Untertürkheim and cheeks . It has been opening up the Stuttgart harbor as a classic port railway since 1958 , a siding leads beyond the city limits to the Daimler AG plant in the Mettingen district of Esslingen . The railway infrastructure company responsible for the port railway is - like the industrial railway Feuerbach and the former industrial railway Münster – Cannstatt - the city of Stuttgart itself, the port railway is assigned to the Hafen Stuttgart GmbH and is not electrified.

The operating center of the port railway is the Stuttgart Hafen freight yard . This is where the electrified Stuttgart-Untertürkheim-Stuttgart Hafen railway, operated and electrified by DB Netz AG , ends and connects the port railway with the rest of the German rail network.
