Foča sub-region

The Foča sub-region is a sub- region of the Istočno Sarajevo administrative region of the Republika Srpska in Bosnia and Herzegovina . It is located in the east of the country on the borders with Serbia and Montenegro and on the upper reaches of the Drina . Since the war in Bosnia, the population has consisted mainly of Bosnian Serbs .

The administrative seat of the area is Foča with about 24,000 inhabitants.
