The Sudare Rock ( Japanese す だ れ 岩 Sudare-iwa , German ' Sudare -Felsen' ; Norwegian Persienneknatten ' Jalousienfelsen ' ) is a rocky outcrop on the Prince Harald Coast in the East Antarctic Queen Maud Land . It rises 1.5 km west of the Skallevikhalsen hill range on the southeastern bank of the Lützow-Holm Bay .
Norwegian cartographers mapped them using aerial photographs of the Lars Christensen expedition in 1936/37 . Participants in a Japanese Antarctic expedition (1957–1962) carried out the measurement and naming. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names translated the latter into English in 1968.
