The Sue-Jur is the headwaters of the Bahr al-Ghazal in western South Sudan .

Naming

In the upper reaches it is called Sue (also Swe , Swue or Souch ), in the lower reaches Jur . The exact name limit is not known.

course

The river has its source in the mountainous region near Yambio on the border with the Democratic Republic of the Congo , then flows mainly northwards through the Dinka area , past the Waw , among other places , and is at the confluence with the Bahr al-Arab river near the city of Wang Kai about 60 kilometers southwest of Bentiu , to the Bahr al-Ghazal.

The exact course at the mouth is unclear. In the flat terrain there are channels that connect the Jur with the Lol and lead to the Bahr al-Arab.

Hydrometry

The flow rate of the river was measured for 82 years (1904–1986) at the Wau gauge in m³ / s.
