The Suinseon ( Hangul : 수인선, Hanja : 水 仁 線, English : Suin Line, abbreviated for Su won - In cheon Line) is a metro line of the Seoul Subway in Sudogwon (Seoul Capital Area) in South Korea . It connects Incheon with Oido and is to be extended to Suwon .
history
The original route of the line was put into operation on August 5, 1937 as one of the few narrow-gauge railways in Korea. It connected Suwon to Namincheon via Ansan and Siheung . It was shut down on December 31, 1995.
Since December 28, 2004, a new, electrified, double-track route has been built as an integral part of the Seoul subway network and put into operation in three phases: Phase 1 from Oido to Songdo was opened on June 30, 2012. Darwol station was opened on December 27, 2014 as an intermediate station. Phase 2 from Songdo to Incheon was opened on February 27, 2016, Phase 3 from Oido east to Suwon is scheduled to open in December 2018. This will create a link to the Bundang Line , so there will be a long subway line from Wangsimni to Incheon, which will likely be called the Bundang – Suin Line . Hagik Station is scheduled to go into operation in 2019 between Songdo and Inha University .

Rail vehicles
Steam locomotives, KNR160 diesel rail buses (Niigata / Kawasaki Diesel Car) and KNR18000 passenger cars were used on the narrow-gauge railway. One KNR160 (later renumbered to KNR9160) and two KNR18000 are preserved in the Uiwang Railway Museum.
Korail is now using the third generation of Class 351000 EMU trains on the electrified, double-track route . These are identical to those of the Bundang Line but painted red like the trains of the Jungang, Gyeongui and Line 1.
