The Suize is a river in France that runs in the Haute-Marne department in the Grand Est region . It rises on the plateau of Langres , in the municipality of Courcelles-en-Montagne and generally drains in a northerly direction. Above Ormancey , the river disappears several times into the chalky subsoil. It finally flows into the Marne as a left tributary after a total of 49 kilometers just north of Chaumont .
