The Sukunka River is a right tributary of the Pine River in the Peace River Regional District in the northeast of the Canadian province of British Columbia .
The Sukunka River has its source in the Canadian Rocky Mountains below Sukunka Peak . Initially, the river flows in a north-westerly direction along the direction of the mountain ranges. Then the Sukunka River turns northeast and breaks through a mountain range of the Rocky Mountains. This is where Hole-in-the-Wall Provincial Park is located . It takes in Windfall Creek from the right and flows north through the mountainous country. In Sukunka Falls Provincial Park , the Burnt River joins the river from the left. The Sukunka River continues its course northwards and finally flows into the Pine River at Twidwell Bend . The Sukunka River has a length of about 120 km. The catchment area covers 2510 km². The mean discharge is 55 m³ / s. In the months of May and June the river carries the largest amounts of water.
