Sultan Kösen (born December 10, 1982 in Alibey , Derik , Turkey ) was dubbed the "greatest living person" by Guinness World Records . On February 8, 2011, he was included in the Guinness Book of Records with his 251.0 cm body length .

Life

Kösen is of Kurdish descent. He grew normally until he was ten years old. Then doctors discovered a tumor behind his eye and diagnosed it to be a giant . He underwent a number of surgeries, but his growth continued unabated until the tumor was removed in 2008. Sultan Kösen can no longer do without walking aids today. He lives in an apartment in Ankara that was made available to him. In 2013 he married the Syrian woman Merve Dibo in Mardin.

Sultan Kösen also holds the record for the largest hands on a living person. His hands are 11 inches long from the wrist to the tip of the middle finger. He wears shoe size 62, which corresponds to a length of 44.5 cm. He overtook former record holder Bao Xishun , who measures 2.37 m.
