The Sulzriegel is a mountain in the Lower Bavarian district of Freyung-Grafenau .

The 1260 meter high mountain consists of two small peaks a few hundred meters apart. It is located about two and a half kilometers southeast of Lusen, a little more than a hundred meters higher . In the south about 1300 meters away is the Hohlstein (also Großalmeyerschloss, 1260 m). In the depression between the two mountains is the playground , formerly a cattle pasture ( shafts ), today the meeting point for some hiking trails. In the north is the Hohe Filzberg (1279 m). To the east the mountain falls down into the valley of the Reschbach stream. The closest localities are Finsterau in the east and Waldhäuser in the west. The rock formation on the summit of the mountain is called Hochgfeichtstein.

Like the Lusen and some other surrounding mountains, the spruce stand in the summit region of the Sulzriegel was almost completely destroyed by the bark beetle . Since the mountain lies completely in the Bavarian Forest National Park , no countermeasures were taken, but nature was left to its own devices (see here ). In the meantime (as of 2019) the regrowing spruces are up to 6 meters high and the population is closing again.
