The Hohlstein is a mountain in the Bavarian Forest National Park southeast of the Lusen high above the Reschbachtal and is called "Großalmeyerschloß" or "Schlössl" by the locals . It has a height of 1,196 m.

A summit cross has stood on the prominent rock summit since October 2004 , the view is extensive and extends from Finsterau via Almberg , Haidel and Freyung to Rachel and Lusen. Several marked hiking trails lead from Finsterau, Mauth and the Sagwassersäge over the Tummelplatz , a former cattle pasture (also called Schachten ) to the summit in around two hours, and the E6 long-distance hiking trail from Lusen to Mauth runs below the Hohlstein .
