RM Sumeda Ranasinghe (born February 10, 1991 ) is a Sri Lankan javelin thrower .

Athletic career

Sumeda Ranasinghe gained his first international experience at the Summer Universiade 2015 in Gwangju , where he was eliminated from the qualification with 68.90 m. In 2016 he was fifth at the South Asian Games in Guwahati with 72.66 m and was eliminated from the qualification at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro with 71.93 m . The following year he reached twelfth place at the Student World Games in Taipei with 69.65 m. In 2019 he finished eighth at the Asian Championships in Doha with 73.50 m.

In 2015, Ranasinghe became the Sri Lankan javelin throwing champion.
