Sun Jihai ( Chinese  孙继海 ; born September 30, 1977 in Dalian ) is a Chinese former football player .

Career

The right defender began his professional career in 1995 at his home club Dalian Wanda , where he played 71 competitive games and scored one goal. In 1998 the Chinese moved to Crystal Palace in Europe . After a year in England, Sun went back to Dalian, which now traded under the name Dalian Shide. From February 2002 to summer 2008 he played for Manchester City in the English Premier League . In 2008 he moved to Sheffield United , before he turned his back on England after a season and returned home.

Sun Jihai played 76 times for the Chinese national soccer team and scored one goal. Sun made his international debut on December 6, 1996 against Uzbekistan .
