Sunny Day is a British - Canadian animated cartoon series . The series began broadcasting in Great Britain and the USA on August 21, 2017, and the German-language dubbing was first broadcast on Nick on January 8, 2018 .
Sunny Day is based on the children's book series The Fairytale Hairdresser by British author Abie Longstaff. The target audience of the series are children of preschool age .

The main character of the series is the ten-year-old girl Sunny. She runs a hair salon in her hometown of Sonnenfurt (originally: Friendly Falls) together with her best friends Rox and Blair. Sunny's talking dog, Doodle, is always by her side. Other recurring characters are, for example, ten-year-old Cindy who runs a bakery, Timmy, a friend of Sunny and the dog catcher Scratch. Together they experience different adventures and often solve the problems of their fellow human beings.
