The Sunny Hill Festival is an international music festival in Kosovo that took place in August 2018 and 2019 in the capital Pristina . The festival was organized by Dua Lipa and her father Dukagjin Lipa.

2018

The festival took place from August 10 to 12, 2018 in the Gërmia National Park . According to the organizers, more than 18,000 people attended the festival. However, a report in the New York Times stated that the venue's 15,000-seat capacity had not been filled. The cost of the tickets was € 55 , which was criticized by many due to the high unemployment rate, especially among young people.

The festival was organized by the singer Dua Lipa together with her father to raise money for the Sunny Hill Foundation. Both have roots in the district of Pristinas Bregu i Diellit (in English sun hill ), after which the festival is named.

Dua Lipa was the headliner , her father also performed with his band ODA. The other line-up included many artists from Kosovo and Albania, among others, Action Bronson and Martin Garrix . The American rapper Action Bronson, who is a supporter of the legalization of cannabis , was arrested by the Kosovar police after his performance at the festival for smoking a joint on stage and sharing it with the audience.

2019

The following year the festival took place from August 2nd to 4th. It took place again in Gërmia Park. In addition to many Albanian musicians, Miley Cyrus , Calvin Harris , Meduza and Klangkarussell performed this time . Dua Lipa was also back on stage. The tickets were more expensive than last year.
