Supergaul is a cabaret - pop band from Berlin and Kehl am Rhein, mainly for their mixture of catchy electro pop tunes and their sometimes brutal and ironic is known cabaret-socially critical lyrics.
history
Supergaul was founded in 2011 and consists of the three members "Bier Wolfmann", "Axel H." and "Uschi", with Bier Wolfmann performing many of the appearances under the name Supergaul. Originally founded as a fun project, the first publication “Besebenbenehmen” with the accompanying video was still self-distributed. In early 2012, the independent label Rummelplatzmusik became aware of Supergaul and signed the band.
The debut album Actually I wanted Klein, but then came the big with the single My father is a warlord, I still love him was released on December 14, 2012 and set the course for the typical, brutally comical style of the band. The album brought Supergaul first radio presence and numerous, quite controversial reviews between undivided enthusiasm and strict rejection.
On August 2, 2013, the EP Der Guantanamo Fun Hit was released , which was conceived as a pre-EP for the upcoming album. The second album Musik für Menschen with or without a penis was finally released again on August 29, 2014 via fairground music and was widely perceived and discussed in the media, and in some cases made it into the feature sections and cultural media. Also with this album with the two singles Haaasi, I give you the freedom and stories about cats and dreams , the critics' opinions again differed greatly.
style
Supergaul is a cabaret band that often makes use of the musical stylistic devices of the electric hit, but there are also clear influences of hip-hop , chanson , Austropop or radio play elements on the band's albums. Live the appearances are a mixture of stand-up comedy , self-deprecating Dada theater and hit performance .
