Rummelplatzmusik is an independent label based in Friesenheim , Baden-Württemberg and offices in Berlin and near Celle . Rummelplatzmusik mainly publishes German-language music from various genres, including pop , hip-hop , electro-pop , singer-songwriter , punk rock and indie rock .

Fairground music functions not only as a label, but also as an association and network of creative people, with the aim of advising, building and publishing artists from a wide variety of genres.

history

Rummelplatzmusik was founded on January 1st, 2012 by Sandro De Lorenzo, Sarah Danzeisen and Ralf Steinert. Sandro De Lorenzo and Ralf Steinert are u. a. Founding members of the electro-pop band RockRainer , which has existed since 2005 , to which Sarah Danzeisen also belonged after a short time. After some success and the professionalization of the band, the three band members decided to publish their music themselves and founded the independent label Rummelplatzmusik. Soon after, they made this release option available to other bands as well. The digital distributor Finetunes could be won for the distribution , the physical distribution is taken over by Cargo Records Germany.

On July 12, 2012, the EP 473 Days Without Sleep by the electro punk band Kreissäge was launched, the first official release of fairground music. This was followed by EPs by Flying Bob, RockRainer, KuschelRockRainer and at the end of the year the first album. I actually wanted small, but then big came the comedy-trashpop hit band Supergaul .

After Ralf Steinert left, the albums of the two new signings, the singer-songwriter Lukas Meister ( Wanderjahre ) and the hip-hop band Zweierpasch ( Alle Guten Dinge sind 2 ) were released in 2013 , both of which attracted a broad media audience Genres. In December albums by the trash pop artist Flying Bob ( The Platinum Edition ) and the Cologne rock band Achtung Surrender ( Rhythm of Love ) were released.

For 2014 several new signings and publications were announced with Team Amateur , Disco Monique and Manfred Groove . Manfred Groove was the first German band to release a 1000-line rap monologue with the one-song album Von Nothing . The second album by Supergaul Musik for people with or without a penis caused controversial reactions in numerous media. The Berlin indie pop band Team Amateur released the album Feuer und Freizeit in November 2014 after a 10-year creative phase , which became a critical success and can boast numerous radio airplays, among other things.

In 2015, new signings were added. The singer-songwriter Sarah Lesch , the indie rock band Holtz and a piece of Heile Welt, the hip-hop act T der Bär and the two punk rock bands Wuttke and Jimi Satans Schuhshop signed for one or more albums with Rummelplatzmusik.

Fairground music is not defined as a pure music label, but as an association and network of creative people who want to provide their artists with both creative and structural support in their careers. In addition to the label, there is also the Rummelplatz Musikverlag run by Sandro De Lorenzo, and Rummelplatzmusik also takes on management, promotion and booking tasks for some artists . In addition, fairground music (among others) works very closely with the photographer Timmy Hargesheimer and the video production companies Videobuero and Sorry. together.

A special feature of the concept of fairground music is that only band takeover contracts are concluded for individual albums and thus artists are not tied in the long term.
