history

Superior was founded in 1992 and released their first timeshift demo after about eight months . Performances followed mainly in southwest Germany until mid-1994 . In 1995 the band recorded their debut album Behind in the Roko Soundstudios in Frankfurt am Main . After the band signed a contract with Noise Records , appearances with Virgin Steele and Angra in Germany followed. After the fifth appearance, keyboardist Jan-Marco Becker injured his hand, so Angra member André Matos helped out.

In mid-1997 the band went on tour again, which began in France and continued in Germany while at the same time working on material for a new album. After a tour of France with Vanden Plas , the first recordings for Younique began . From March to mid-May 1998 the album was recorded, mixed and mastered in the Roko sound studios. The publication in the same year was followed by appearances in Germany, France, the Netherlands and Belgium . The band played with Angra and Stratovarius in Paris and at ProgPower Europe in the Netherlands. Thereafter, Superior separated from Noise Records and signed with NTS Records .

From January 2000 to May 2001 the band worked on the album Ultima Ratio . Over the next six months, the band recorded the album in the Roko sound studios. Meanwhile the band played again on the ProgPower Europe and on the ProgPower USA . Ultima Ratio was released in 2002. In 2007, the band broke up.
