Life

After attending the arts and crafts school and an apprenticeship as a decorator in Bern , Susanna Kuratli worked, among other things, for three years as a draftsman in an architectural office in Geneva . She found her access to painting through her husband and his roots in Nesslau in Toggenburg . Over time, the farmhouse became the focus of their works. The pictures were created in oil paint on the basis of photographs that she took while traveling through Switzerland. Kuratli presents the historical buildings in traditional, regional forms. Since 1976 a calendar with new works by the artist has been published annually. In 2011 Susanna Kuratli was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia and a few years later she had to give up painting. The calendar continues to appear, since then as a compilation of works from their rich fund.
