Susanne Augenhofer

Susanne Augenhofer (* 1977 ) is an Austrian law scholar and university lecturer .

Life

Augenhofer studied law at the University of Graz from 1995 to 1999. This was followed by a doctoral degree at the University of Vienna , where she was also employed as a university assistant from 1999 to 2009 . In 2001, she was there with the dissertation Warranty and advertising: the new warranty law for advertising claims for doctor of rights doctorate . In 2003 she obtained an LL.M. from Yale Law School , and in 2004 another from FU Berlin . After various international research stays, she worked from summer 2008 to summer 2009 with the Jean Monnet Fellowship at the Robert Schuman Center for Advanced Studies at the European University Institute in Florence .

Augenhofer received by October 2009 reputation as Assistant Professor of Civil Law and European Private Law with special focus on consumer and competition law to the Humboldt University of Berlin . Research stays followed in 2010 at the London School of Economics and Political Science and in 2014 at the Yale Law School. Previously, in 2013 she was appointed holder of the chair for civil law, European private law, comparative law and market regulation through consumer and competition law at the HU Berlin.

She has been an Associated Research Scholar in Law at Yale Law School since 2014, a member of AcademiaNet since 2017 , Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School and Adjunct Professor of Law at NYU School of Law . From autumn 2018 she was professor for German and European civil and commercial law at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Erfurt . 2020 it followed a call to the Institute of Business and Tax Law of the University of Innsbruck .

Augenhofer received the Theodor Körner Prize in the science category in 2011 . In 2019 she was awarded a prize for good teaching at the Political Science Faculty of the University of Erfurt.
