Susanne Grützmann

Susanne Grützmann (born May 18, 1964 in Leipzig ) is a German pianist and university teacher .

Life

Grützmann began playing the piano at the age of five and studied at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin . She has won prizes at several international piano competitions. She teaches at the Hanns Eisler University of Music in Berlin. From 1998 to 2002 and from 2013 to 2016 she was visiting professor there, and from 2003 to 2005 she was a deputy professor at the Cologne University of Music .

In addition to piano recitals and chamber music concerts, Grützmann played with the Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra , the SWF Baden-Baden Symphony Orchestra, the Stuttgart Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Berlin German Symphony Orchestra and the Berlin Radio Symphony Orchestra, with the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra and the Bavarian State Orchestra , with the Nederlands Philharmonisch Orkest and the Arcos Chamber Orchestra New York. Her partners on the conductor's desk included Kurt Masur , Wolfgang Sawallisch , Hans Zender , Hanns Martin Schneidt , Mathias Bamert , Hartmut Haenchen , Jörg Faerber , Christoph Poppen, Sylvain Cambreling , Michail Jurowski and Wojciech Rajski .

In addition to a solo repertoire, she has mastered piano concertos by Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Mendelssohn-Bartholdy, Schumann, Chopin, Liszt, Grieg, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Stravinky, Scriabin and Gershwin.
