Susanne Metzger

Susanne Metzger (born July 5, 1972 in Würzburg ) is a German physicist and university professor. She is professor for natural science didactics at the University of Education in Zurich .

life and work

After graduating from high school at St. Ursula School (Geisenheim), Metzger studied physics , mathematics and sports at Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz from 1991 to 1999 . After passing the state examination for teaching at grammar schools, she did her doctorate in 2002 with Jörg Baschnagel at the Charles Sadron Institute in Strasbourg on the subject of “Monte Carlo simulations on the adsorption behavior of homo- and copolymer solutions”. From 2002 to 2005 she worked as a research assistant at the Institute for Didactics of Natural Sciences at the Technical University of Braunschweig . Since 2006 she has been head of the Center for Didactics of Natural Sciences at the University of Education in Zurich. In 2016 she turned down an offer for the W3 professorship for subject didactics in natural sciences at the University of Konstanz .
