Sutherland is a small town in the Karoo Hoogland municipality , Namakwa District , Northern Cape Province in the Republic of South Africa . It is located 120 kilometers north of Matjiesfontein . In 2011 Sutherland had 2,836 inhabitants. The city is named after the Reverend Henry Sutherland from Worcester .
