Suzanne Pagé (* 1941 in Rennes ) is a French curator and museum director.

life and work

Suzanne Pagé studied Classical Antiquities and Art History from 1961 to 1968 . She has been a curator at the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris since 1973 . The Département de l'ARC (Animation, Research, Confrontation) is the department for contemporary art at the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris . It was built in 1966 by Pierre Gaudibert and Suzanne Pagé and had an independent status until 1988. The first exhibition took place in 1967. From 1973 to 1988 it was under Suzanne Pagé. The exhibitions often presented contemporary artists in the form of a retrospective. So among others 1974 Wolf Vostell , 1976 Hannah Höch , 1978 Nam June Paik and 1982 Joan Mitchell .

In 1986 she curated the French pavilion ( Daniel Buren ) at the Biennale di Venezia and was honored with the “Golden Lion”. From 1988 to 2006 she was director of the Musée d'art moderne de la Ville de Paris . In 1993 Pagé organized the exhibition "Figures du modern: l'expressionnisme en Allemagne" there. In 2006 she accepted the position of Artistic Director of the Louis Vuitton Foundation .

Pagé has worked with artists such as Bruce Nauman , Agnes Martin , Dan Graham , Gerhard Richter , Olafur Eliasson , Matthew Barney , Christian Boltanski , Annette Messager , Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster and Roni Horn .
