Career
Batkovic-Brown was selected in the WNBA Draft 2003 in the second round in the 22nd place overall by the Seattle Storm . However, she only dared to make the leap into the WNBA after the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens , where she won the silver medal with the Australian national basketball team . In the 2005 season she was in 29 of 34 games for the Storm on the field. With an average playing time of 16 minutes per game, she scored 6.9 points and 3.2 rebounds per game. After her rookie season, she put her WNBA career on hold and decided to take a break in Australia in the summer and play for teams in Europe over the winter. After only one year, however, she left the WNBA again and played for teams in her native Australia.
She played with the Sydney Uni Flames from 2009 to 2010 before moving to the Canberra Capitals for two years . After moving to Adelaide Lightning in 2011 , she was again a member of the Australian team at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . In the game for third place, the team won the bronze medal after beating Russia 83:74. In 2013 Batkovic-Brown moved back to Townsville Fire , where she played from 2001 to 2002.
