Sven Schelker

Sven Schelker (born December 12, 1989 in Basel ) is a Swiss theater and film actor .

Life

Born in Basel, Sven Schelker grew up in the community of Reinach BL . In December 2008 he obtained his Matura at the Gymnasium Münchenstein with a focus on music and in 2009 began studying acting at the Otto Falckenberg School in Munich . Schelker received his stage entrance certificate in summer 2013. He played guitar and violin at an early age. He worked in several bands.

Schelker has been a member of the Thalia Theater in Hamburg since 2012 . Here he took part in plays such as Platonov by Anton Pawlowitsch Chekhov or the William Shakespeare plays Macbeth as Macduff or The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet as Sir Paris. In 2015 he was seen at the Thalia Theater in Bertolt Brecht's Threepenny Opera in the lead role of Mackie Messer.

Sven Schelker made his film debut in 2014 in Stefan Haupt's internationally awarded film Der Kreis . For his role as the travesty artist Röbi Rapp , he received the “Shooting Stars Award” from the European Film Promotion (EFP) at the 2015 Berlinale and in March of the same year the Swiss film award for “Best Actor”. In a film that was announced for 2019, Sven Schelker plays the environmental activist Bruno Manser .
