Sven Theißen (born October 24, 1988 in Duisburg ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Theißen, captain of the second team of MSV Duisburg playing in the NRW League , was in the professional squad of MSV from July 2009 and made his debut in the 2nd Bundesliga on November 22, 2009 when he played in the second division against SpVgg Greuther Fürth in The 92nd minute for Änis Ben-Hatira came on . In the following three league games he was also substituted on by coach Milan Šašić in stoppage time. In total, he came to six missions in the 2009/10 season, in the following season, however, he was no longer considered and his contract was not extended in the summer of 2011. Following the cup final , Theißen was officially bid farewell in front of the home crowd.

In the 2011/12 season Theißen played for SC Fortuna Köln . After a year and 14 games, he left Fortuna in the direction of Lübeck. At VfB Lübeck Theißen received a two-year contract until June 30, 2014. During the 2012/13 season, VfB Lübeck had to file for bankruptcy and was relegated to the Schleswig-Holstein League . Theißen stayed in Lübeck and managed to get promoted back to the regional league as champions in 2014. After the following regional league season he ended his career as a player and worked full-time at the VfB Lübeck office. There he takes on marketing and team manager tasks.
