Sven Wolf (born February 10, 1976 in Remscheid ) is a German politician ( SPD ) and has been a member of the North Rhine-Westphalian state parliament since 2010 .

Life

Sven Wolf graduated from the Ernst-Moritz-Arndt-Gymnasium in Remscheid in 1995, then did community service and began studying law at the University of Cologne in 1996 . He has been working as a lawyer in Remscheid since 2005 and has been a specialist lawyer for insolvency law since 2009 .

Sven Wolf has been a member of the SPD since 1998. He has been a member of the Remscheid City Council since 1999. Since 2014 he has been chairman of the SPD parliamentary group in the Remscheid City Council. For the city of Remscheid he is a member of the association assembly of the Verkehrsverbund Rhein-Ruhr (VRR) , member of the administrative board of Stadtsparkasse Remscheid , member of the supervisory board of Stadtwerke Remscheid GmbH and its subsidiary EWR GmbH. Before that he was a member of the supervisory board of the housing company GEWAG for five years.

In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2010 and in the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2012 , Wolf won the direct mandate of the state constituency of Remscheid . In the state elections in North Rhine-Westphalia in 2017 , he was elected from the SPD's state list.

From 2010 to 2017 he was the legal policy spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group.

In the 16th electoral term of the North Rhine-Westphalia state parliament - between 2012 and 2017 - Wolf was chairman of several committees of inquiry:

  • From January 23, 2013 to April 29, 2015, Wolf was chairman of the first parliamentary committee of inquiry, which investigated possible grievances in the area of ​​construction and property management in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia (BLB NRW).
  • On April 22, 2015, Wolf was elected chairman of the third parliamentary committee of inquiry in the 16th electoral term, which dealt with the right-wing terrorism of the National Socialist Underground (NSU) group. On April 6, 2017, Wolf informed the state parliament about the final report of the committee of inquiry.
  • From February 15, 2017 to May 31, 2017, Wolf was chairman of the fifth parliamentary committee of inquiry in the 16th electoral term, which dealt with the actions of the North Rhine-Westphalian security authorities against the Islamist assassin Anis Amri .

From 2017 to 2018, Sven Wolf was spokesman for the SPD parliamentary group in the Committee on Home, Local Affairs, Building and Housing. Since 2018 he has been deputy parliamentary group leader of his party.

In July 2018, Wolf filed a criminal complaint in connection with the deportation of an Islamist threat against the Federal Interior Minister Horst Seehofer .
